Hey & thanks for stopping by and looking over my car build. I wanted to share my project so that it could help inspire others or share a little knowledge.  I have put in a lot of time and effort thinking of every part of this cars design and hopefully some of the things I learnt could help others taking on a similar project.

 

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank John Colaidis for all of his help during this project. Your advice on all things mechanical was priceless and has certainly helped me out emmencely. Mark from LMS has also been an intrical part of this build and his fabrication skills are second to none! Thanks guys.

Starting a similar project?

 

If you are taking on a project similar to this then I have a few tips;

 

1)  Don't buy anything until you seek out advice from those who have gone through a similar project. Join a few forums, and look through other build threads like this one for ideas. Compile as much information as you can before starting.

 

2) Acknowlege that you will always go over budget. You can never budget for every little part of the build. Create a budget tracking sheet and add a 30% buffer to it.

 

3) Sometimes its better to spend a little more during the build as it could save you money in the long run. It will also keep your re-sale value up. No-one will by a car that has imperfections which screams out you cut corners.

 

4) Enjoy the process and don't rush it. Take the opportunity to learn new skills or get creative and customize certain parts of the build. People will let you down and expect delays to your timelines.
