I needed to modify the fold angles slightly. You will see the difference if you look up teh last center console upate.
The two side panels were cut out of 9mm MDF. These were traced off the main center console piece (folder aluminium).
The main center piece was laid on its side and one side panel was put in place. Mulitple 20c coins used to evenly provide 2mm spacing (I will need this once leather wraps it all.
30mmx30mm aluminium mounting plates (already with centre holes) were then laid out on top of the MDF panel and rested right up against the main centre console piece. I carefully marked the centre holes by turning a drill bit manually by hand.
Now I knew where the holes needed to be I drilled them out and then counter sunk each by 3mm to match the same syle as the door cards. You will see this in the image below.
All of the 30mm x 30mm mounting plates were then drilled and rivnutted. These were then bolted onto the MDF panel using the holes which were just drilled. The end result gave me a 2mm overhang vs the MDF edge. All I needed to do now was hold these mdf side panels flush with the edge of the aluminium center piece so the mounting plates could be tacked on one by one. You will find an image futrther below showing the mounting plates welded on. Too easy!
