Adapting New Seats

I have been completing  a shitload of research and google has been my best friend! The forums have also been a great source of information and I stumbled upon some members who have put Falcon ute seats in their Mustangs. The reason for using the ute seat is that it has a handle on the back to allow it to fold forward, a crutial mechanism for seats in a 2 door coupe.

I decided to go this way as the seats were already ADR compliant being from a BF Ford Falcon. If i went down the route of using an aftermarket seat (PROCAR for example) I could run into dramas down the line. So what did i do?

1) Purchased the seats and removed the motors which adjusted the height. There was plenty of room once these were removed.

2) Purchased 2 sets of universal Autotechnia Seat Rails (Sold at Autobahn). These are ADR compliant and very slimline to ensure both seat to steering room and seat to headliner gaps are maintained.

3) Created an adapter plate out of ply wood to test how the adapter would join the rails and the seat together. Once I was happy with this I then had it laser cut. It only then needed some 8.8 High Tensile bolts to hold it together

What Design?

I have used a leather, suede & blue double stich design. The rears will follow the same design as the front so that the car properly finished. You can see the chalk lines on the rear seats below showing the cut lines for the leather.
